USEA delegates attended the UM-PEDAC–CLMV Renewable Energy Symposium 2012 held on August 27-28, 2012 at Wisma Building, Level 3, UM-PEDAC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In line with the USEA and UM university collaboration,  Prof. Nasrudin Abd. Rahim ,Director of UM-PEDAC invited the USEA delegates in the said symposium.

          The symposium was opened by an  inspiring remarks from Ybhg Prof. Dr. Awang Bulgiba ,  Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Malaya, (UM), Malaysia, while the  closing remarks was given by Prof. Dr. Nasrudin Abd Rahim.  Dr. Hew Wooi Ping acted as moderator. The participants were from Cambodia, Japan and Malaysia,  consisting of University Management and staff,  lecturer,  students and researchers.

           On the first day of the symposium,  the participants visited the Office of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education located at Putrajaya, Malyasia. This was followed by a meeting with Dr. Ahmad  Nazri Bin Sulaiman,  the  Undersecretarty  of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Malaysia, Prof Sulaiman  discussed other details of the collaborative project.  Later, after lunch Prof. Dr.Nasrudin Abd. Rahim welcome and guided  the participants in the visit to the UM-PEDAC laboratories.

           On the second day of the symposium, several topics related to renewable energy were presented by renowned  speakers  from the partners universities. The topics discussed  were:
