Major: Information Technology

1. Description

Nowadays, information technology sector has actively contributed to daily work, particularly, technical work in factories, enterprises or companies. In addition, information technology has been widely used including education training, research, network management, software management, data maintenance, office work and universal communication. Teaching and learning methodologies based on the modern techniques are linked closely to the industrial application.

 

2. Expected Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • create “Desktop Application” database program, “Web-based Application” database system and webpage for enterprises, companies, schools, supermarkets, government bodies and non-government organizations including Smartphone or Tablet operation system;  
  • manage computer network in public and private institutions and non-government organizations;
  • analyze data in order to build database system in public and private institutions and non-government organizations;
  • apply real practices in enterprises, companies, schools, supermarkets, government bodies and non-government organizations;
  • use English language for academic purpose and communication at workplace;
  • collect, compute, analyze, interpret statistics or data and suggest solutions to assist in decision-making;
  • build self-confidence, courage, initiatives and creativities;
  • develop and lead the teamwork, communicate effectively, think critically and deal with every challenge based on social and economic evolution and high accountability;
  • lead life-long self-learning and pursue toward higher education.

 

 

3. Job Opportunity

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • work in information technology at public and private institutions and non-government organizations in a following positions such as computer networking manager, computer system analyst, computer system manager, computer programmer, Smartphone or Tablet application designer, web developer and database system, computer security manager, information technology project manager, and computer system preparation consultant;
  • information technology lecturer;
  • information technology researcher. 

 

4. Academic Information

This program, students are required to study for 4 years, equal to 8 semesters. Academic year is divided into 2 semesters in which 1 semester lasts for 15 weeks excluding examination. Upon completion of this program, students will obtain 120 credits with Grade Point Average (GPA) at least 2.00.

 

5. Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must possess high school diploma or equivalent certificates;
  • Candidates are required to pass the entrance exam which is set up by university and accredited by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. In case those candidates fail any subjects of high school examination or candidates that have already possessed high school diploma before 2002 are required to pass the entrance exam for admission.
